Bios

• N. Candace Jones

  DVM

  Dr. Candace Jones graduated Cum Laude from Washington State University, in 1986. She was self-employed, doing relief veterinary work, for over 20 years. The Seattle Humane Society was one of the 90 clinics in which she performed relief work. She joined us in 2005.

• Carolyn Morrill

  DVM

  Dr. Carolyn Morrill joined us in June, 2008. As a native Seattle-ite, she received her undergraduate degree from the UW (GO HUSKIES!) and her DVM in 1995 from WSU (GO HUSKIES!), graduating Summa Cum Laude. Dr. Morrill did a small-animal internship at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine and then practiced in Spokane for 11 years, before moving back to Seattle.

• Aya Iwai

  DVM

  Dr. Iwai joined us in 2010 after moving back to Seattle from the Midwest. She lives with a border-collie ("Clover"), two cats ("Tempit" and "Phinney") and human critters (her husband, daughter, and identical twin boys). In the rare event that she has "free time," she likes to hike, ski, travel, read short stories, and listen to "Radiolab.". Her special veterinary interests include internal medicine, ophthalmology, soft tissue surgery, and radiology. She received her college degree from the University of Chicago, and her veterinary degree from the University of Illinois. After veterinary school, she completed a one-year rotating small animal internship at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital of San Diego.

• Sarah Perigo

  DVM

  Dr. Sarah Perigo is a native of the Pacific Northwest and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree with honors from Washington State University in 2009. She graduated from The Evergreen State College in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. In 2013 Dr. Perigo completed certification in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture through Colorado State University. Her professional interests include preventative medicine, all things feline, dermatology, and pain management. One of Dr. Perigo's favorite aspects of being a veterinarian is supporting the bond between people and their pets. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and pets, hiking, listening to music and NPR, and tending to her planted freshwater aquarium and tropical fish.

• Ocean Skyrud

  DVM, Associate Veterinarian

  Meet our newest addition to the veterinary staff, Dr. Ocean Skyrud. He grew up in Montana and is thrilled to have the opportunity to practice veterinary medicine in the Puget Sound area. His personal goal is to provide the highest quality medicine to our clients and patients. He is looking forward to working with the caring and professional team here at VCA Lynnwood Veterinary Center. He spends his spare time with his fiancé and his dog Duke, that 'adopted' him, who loves to swim in Lake Washington. He is excited to be in this position and to be able to serve our local community.
