Dr. Jim McGill is a native Washingtonian. He attended undergraduate studies at both UW & WSU, graduating from the College of Veterinary Medicine, WSU, in 1972. After graduation he spent two years in the Army Veterinary Corps before joining and becoming a partner at Alderwood Veterinary Clinic between 1974 and 1982. In 1983 he established Alderwood Companion Animal Hospital as a solo practitioner. The practice and his family were simultaneously developed and expanded until the kids left home and the practice merged with Veterinary Centers of America (VCA-Antech). It has grown from a solo practice to a five-doctor practice where Dr. McGill now serves as Medical Director. His medical interests are diverse but enjoys surgery, endoscopy and general medicine the most. Outside interests include a passion for woodworking & hiking with a history of backpacking and scuba.
Dr. Boris Rozhik is a 2001 graduate of WSU College of Veterinary Medicine. Received a undegraduate degree from WSU in veterinary science in 1998.
Dr. Jill James grew up in Kirkland, and after attending college at Gonzaga University, and vet school at Washington State University, she was excited to return to Western Washington. She joined the team at VCA Alderwood Companion Animal Hospital in 2004 after graduating from WSU. Outside of the hospital, she and her husband love raising their new daughter, and teaching her how to throw the ball for Cinco, their faithful mutt. She also finds as much time as possible to enjoy outdoor activities, snowshoeing, traveling, and cooking.
Dr. Kari Emery grew up in the northwest and she has a large family in the area. She lives in Edmonds with her husband, two children, a cat (Mufasa) and fish (Bugly named by her 4 year old daughter). Dr. Emery enjoys traveling, skiing, soccer, and spending time with her family and friends.
Dr. Kate Janczak was born just outside of the Windy City where she was raised to love deep dish pizza and Chicago sports. She graduated with bachelors degrees in both Spanish and Biology from Hope College, in Holland, Michigan before heading to the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine to pursue her life's goal of becoming a veterinarian. After graduating in 2012, she completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at a large referral and emergency hospital in Mesa, Arizona before signing on at VCA Alderwood Companion Animal Hospital. Dr. Janczak is excited to explore everything the great Northwest has to offer. She shares her home with a three legged Greyhound, Koza and two mischievous cats. In her free time, she enjoys reading a good book, playing volleyball, and feeding her shoe addiction.
